|The Amazon River town of Iquitos. Our flight from Lima, Peru,
landed here and this was our port of embarkation for La

able to support the weight of a small child!

|Here we are fishing for piranhas. This is an activity which
should be done very carefully.
|Here are some of the piranhas we caught. We ate them later,
and found them to taste like our own sac-au-lait fish, which is to
say very good. The crew presented us with the cleaned
skeletons of the fish heads, complete with razor-sharp teeth.
|"Hanging basket" orioles nests in a tree next to where we
moored for the night.
