Whitetail Deer -- Young Bucks
The bucks are solitary, except during the
mating season, and are much more wary
than the doe herd.  These bucks were
once fawns in the doe herd.  Joe was
finally able to photograph two of them.

These photos below were Joe's
first buck pictures, taken at dusk,
under very low light conditions.
The very young bucks are allowed to
remain with the doe herd until they
start to mature and their antlers
begin to emerge.  Then they go off
on their own solitary way, and will
later do battle with other bucks
during the mating season.
